Marathon Summerfest

2014

Summerfest Dance

After a long day of fishing or a leisurely day strolling through the Open Market, you will be able to chill out and enjoy local or regional live band music at the annual Marathon Summerfest Dance. Join a capacity crowd of up to 600 people and Rock Out the Night at the Marathon Community Arena.

Canada Day

Kick off the annual Canada Family Day celebrations on the Lake, at the official opening ceremony with the local mayor and the president of the Marathon Summerfest organization. Relax and enjoy family fun activities outside at Penn Lake Park during the day, and then cast your eyes to the skies, to watch a spectacular grand finale of Fireworks hosted by the Marathon Firefighters Association.

Fish Derby

Check out the Marathon Summerfest Annual Fish Derby, where in 2013 the third largest lake trout on record was caught - weighing in at a spectacular 51.06 lbs! This single-day event boasts a chance to win $9,500.00 in cash prizes and an enclosed trailer, with many other prizes also being offered. Come out, soak up the sun, have some fun and enjoy what beautiful Lake Superior has to offer.
